In 2014 I took an old Frosts ‘Mora’ knife, laboriously chiselled off the moulded plastic handle, and proceeded to crudely fit, shape and finish my own wooden creation using unseasoned birch. It was certainly no work of art, lopsided and unsymmetrical, but I had made it, and this simple act had started me along the path to becoming a full-time knifemaker.
Through much trial, error and sandpaper, I became familiar with the intricate processes of fitting handles to pre-made knife blanks. As my skills improved, I then ventured into crafting my own blades, delving into the world of metallurgy, knife edge geometry, and achieving the optimal heat treatment for hardening steel.
Today, I take pride in producing knives and leatherwork meticulously crafted by my own hands, from start to finish.
As a passionate outdoorsman I specialise in blades for hunting, safari and wilderness travel, and use experiences gained in the field to shape my knives; form, function and aesthetics in equal measure.
I am committed to making the best possible knives for their intended jobs - an eternal pursuit that continues to evolve as my skills, knowledge, and tools improve. Every knife I create is a testament to the journey I’ve undertaken, and I remain ever focused on refining my craft, one blade at a time.
